World vision works in about 100 countries around the world, combating the root causes of poverty and responding quickly when disaster strikes. World Vision operates AIDS prevention and care programs in more than 60 countries. In June 2008, World Vision launched a five-year initiative to reduce the illness and death caused by malaria. World vision is an overall great organization which dedicates their work to working with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential, meaning tackling the causes of poverty, and injustice!

Soar is another wonderful organization dedicated to preserving lives, and improving health worldwide. Soar sends volunteers to Honduras to provide free medical care to those in need. Soar provides doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to medical missions in partnership with other aid agencies to help those in need. Soar is another very helpful, and dedicated organization.

Pepfar first started on July 30th, 2008, authorizing up to $48 billion over the next 5 years to combat global HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Pepfar will support training of 140,000 new health care workers in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care.

3 Community service project ideas:

- Helen Woodward Animal Center is a non profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of animals, as well as enriching people’s lives. I would love to work at HWAC for a couple different reasons. First of all, I love animals and It would be a great, and new experience to be able to help save animals lives. Second, I think it’s a great opportunity to be able to bond with animals and treat and care for them. Maybe, Someday I’ll even adopt a pet from there.

-Another very giving, as well as important community service project is food and every day necessities drives. Without everyday necessities it is very hard to survive and this would give homeless people a better shot at surviving, as well as life.

-Finally, I thought another really cool idea is to make little diners for those in need of food. It would give people an opportunity to sit down and enjoy their lunch over a roof, instead of on the streets. At the diner their would be a wide variety of healthy food groups to pick out of.
