La Jollan starts meals program for destitute
People have taken notice, as well as amid, that a La Jolla woman (Souza) has started a biweekly program to feed those in need, by a weekly church in La jolla. Souza remarks, ” This is for people down and out in these tough times, not necessarily the homeless.” “It’s for people who’ve maybe gotten pink slips or pay cuts, anybody who needs food in their stomach.” Souza also shared, that she feels motivated to feed those in need for many reasons including, Setting an example for her children. Earl Van Inwegen, the new town council president, had many things to say about this, but the main idea was that there are pros and cons to this situation. The pro is this wounderful women is trying to support and help with all her ability to these people in need, which is a great deed, but on the other side, as Earl says there is a Con. Earl comments, “If you’re offering food at a kitchen or something like that, citizens are concerned about the possibility of homeless congregating and spending more time here.”
I chose this article because I see Souza as a hero. I mean, yes there is that possibility of more homeless coming here, but she is doing a great dead. On the other hand, I see Earls point. I think that Souza, motivating herself to do great things is amaizng , and I hope more people in the world learn from her and start to help, like she does!
