Csl influenza pandemic alert raised from phase 4 to 5
Dr Margaret Chan has raised the current level of influenza pandemic alert from phase 4 (Sustain human to human infection) to 5.5 meaning wide spread human infection., and 6 being the highest, meaning pandamic infection.(To me, that means that it’s almost out of control.) Dr Margaret Chan stated, ” all countries should immediately activate their pandemic preparedness plans. At this stage, effective and essential measures include heightened surveillance, early detection and treatment of cases, and infection control in all health facilities.” This is a huge disease that keeps getting bigger. We need to do something, but how?
